Error:
In event viewer while starting “Forefront Identity Manager
Synchronization service”,
‘Cannot connect to database <DB Name>’.
Cause:
The specified DB name in the event viewer error message is
not available in the appropriate connected SQL server.
Resolution:
- Run à regedit
- Computer à HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE à SYSTEM à ControlSet001 à services à FIMSynchronizationService à Parameters. Change the ‘DBName’ by double clicking on it to the latest updated Sync DB name given while creating the User profile service in central admin. Also check once if all the parameters specified are correct, if anything wrong update the same.
